This morning, CLC continued our tradition of holding the rockingest dance parties in New York City with a new focus musician: Elvis! For weeks, the children have been singing songs like “Burning Love,” “Hound Dog,” and “Suspicious Minds,” and watching clips of Elvis singing and dancing, even trying out the dance moves themselves! As one Purple Roomer said, “Elvis is a king, he’s a king of dancing, he’s THE king of dancing.”
Today, we put all that practice to use, and children, teachers, and parents gathered in our Yellow Room to dance the morning away to the King, twisting to tunes like “Jailhouse Rock” and “Blue Suede Shoes.” Some friends came dressed as their favorite Elvis or 50’s bopper, and during one beautiful moment, the whole group attempted a classic slow dance to “Can’t Help Falling In Love.” It’s official: children love Elvis Presley.
We strongly encourage folding some good old Elvis into your home dance lives. Here’s our playlist!
