In Bloom

Spring is in bloom in Purple Room and we decided to get in on the action: Purple Room Planting is underway!

After reading several books on plants and gardening, our young horticulturists filled individual decomposable pots (made out of recycled newspaper) with soil and topped them off with a bee, butterfly, and bird-friendly seed mixture comprised of a variety of wildflowers including Blue Lupine, Larkspur, Cosmos, Black-eyed Susan, Blue Flax, Purple Coneflower, Beeplant, Lemon Mint, Zinnia, and many others.

Purple Roomers will observe, water, and care for the plants as they begin to grow. Once the plants have sprouted, the children will transplant the entire pot into the large planters outside. We can’t wait to watch as these tiny seeds grow into flowering plants in the coming weeks and months!
